You know you want something to change.

So why can't you seem to make it happen?

Use the Why Is Change So Difficult? Diagnostic to understand what’s keeping you stuck.

You know you want something to change. So why can't you seem to make it happen?

You know something isn't working anymore.

Maybe you know exactly what you want to do next. You want to leave your job, change direction, start something of your own or finally do something you've been thinking about for years. r perhaps it's less clear than that. You just know you can't keep going as you are, but you can't see a way out.

Either way, you're stuck.

You've thought about it, you've researched it, you've probably had endless conversations with yourself about it.

Yet you're still here.

You find yourself hesitating, overthinking, second-guessing yourself or putting things off. You may have plenty of reasons why now isn't the right time. And that can be incredibly frustrating when you're otherwise a capable person who gets things done.

Why Am I So Stuck?

On the surface, you might think you need more motivation, confidence or the right time. But often, it's more complex than that.

There can be something underneath the stuckness that you haven't yet identified.

Perhaps:

  • You're caught between what you want and what you think you should want.

  • You know you want change, but you haven't worked out what you actually want instead.

  • You don't know how to make a change without risking everything you've built.

  • You want change, but you're worried you might regret it.

  • You're worried about what other people will think, or what changing would mean for the person you've been.

  • You've made the problem much bigger and more complicated than it needs to be.

  • You've been trying to solve the wrong problem altogether.

This is the work I do

I help people who feel stuck understand what's actually keeping them there, so they can work out what they want and find a way forward.

We'll untangle what's going on beneath the surface - your thoughts, assumptions, expectations, fears and competing priorities - and look at what you actually want now.

If you already know the change you want to make, we'll explore what's getting in the way of making it happen.

If you don't know what comes next, we'll create the space to explore what might be possible without forcing you to have the answer straight away.

Then we'll turn that understanding into a way forward that feels realistic and right for you.

I'm not here to tell you what decision to make. There's no five-step plan for reinventing your life. And I won't push you towards a change you're not ready for. Instead, I'll help you understand what's really going on, so you can make an informed decision and take action towards where you want to be.

You might be thinking...

“I know something has to change, but I don't know what.”

“I know what I want to do. So why can't I seem to get myself to do it?”

“I've been thinking about this for months and I'm still no further forward.”

“I know I don't want to stay where I am, but I can't see what else I could do.”

“I don't know how to make a change without putting everything I've built at risk.”

“I keep telling myself I'll do it when I've got more time, confidence or money.”

“Part of me really wants this, but another part keeps finding reasons not to.”

“I don't know whether I'm scared of changing or scared of making the wrong decision.”

“I just want to stop going round in circles and move forward.”

Sometimes, what looks like procrastination, indecision or a lack of confidence is actually something else entirely. The important thing is to understand what's really keeping you stuck before you try to force yourself to move.
